My Film 233 5 Minute film project.
Essentially, I wanted to explore the erratic nature of dreams.
Peter has a good life. He has a … all ยป loving girlfriend. But I wanted to show how dreams create situations and people that you didn’t belong in. Kayla and Peter’s characters have never met in real life, it is just a figment of his imagination.
The first half by its purpose, should be dull and predictable. Dreams aren’t always exciting.
As he states, at the beginning of the dream he is in control. And then he loses it.
First, I really liked how you introduced the characters and actors.
I wasn’t so keen on the first half…slow and bit boring.
I much prefered the second half. The story became intriguing. In particular, I liked the different coloured backgrounds.
Overall, an interesting short film, Mica. A completely different style in contrast to your firt pieces such as “Walk Idiot Walk”.

I think you’ve done a good job expressing the erratic and contradictory nature of dreams.

I think you captured the experiences of intimacy and the chaos of the mind very honestly.

This is a departure, in my opinion, from the usual Mica Prazak films. It was still very experimental, but it was a spin on something that we all experience almost daily but don’t always examine in our everyday cognitive process.
What I mean is: it’s a cool idea.
Emilia was cool. I don’t know if this was intentional or how it was supposed to be interpreted, but I thought it was cool how she was supposed to be his girlfriend, but in his dream she “morphed” into something super mundane and almost annoying (as the TV salesperson). And she is a lovely little singer… Peter is always fun, and he got to kiss two pretty ladies. Kayla was a great choice for dream dancer woman (HAIDA WHO!?!?!). I really liked the flashing montage with her in it. She is good because she could easily overdo that situation and make it cheezy, but she didn’t and it kept a certain element of authenticity.
Mica - you deserve an A+ in that class (from the completely uneducated opinion of one 20 year old amateur video connoisseur)
